Hi. I'm Alex, a Computing Security student in Rochester, New York. I enable teams to build secure, reliable, and high-quality applications.

My Journey to Security

I grew up in the heart of Silicon Valley, and fell in love with software when I first played with MSWLogo in kindergarten. Software development has been a core part of my life ever since, including being the first person to write an iOS application for my school district's science fair in 6th grade, and being heavily involved with robotics in 7th through 12th grade.

In my freshman year of high school, I ended up taking over as the software team lead for my FIRST Robotics Team (100 - Wildhats). I quickly became frustrated with how unreliable our software was, and experienced catastrophic software failure multiple times in my first season. I then led an initiative to focus on building the most reliable software possible. We developed a culture that emphasized software design, investments into core libraries, and automation, resulting in a 90% reduction in debugging time and no critical software issues for the subsequent season. The approach was then replicated through our Electronics.

In college, I was Tech Lead at RITSEC, where I developed hands-on training for a wide variety of topics from Linux and Windows Blue/Red team to AWS cloud and GitLab DevSecOps. I also developed a 5-year transformation plan to reimagine security education in universities and secondary schools.
